We believe in embedding deep respect for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Custodians of the land. We operate on the sacred land of the “WANGAL” clans of the DHARUG people. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. We are committed to honouring and representing their history, culture, values, and traditions across our entire service.

We believe in advocating for children’s rights and empowering the child’s voice

Every child has the right to be heard, respected and involved in decisions that affect them. We are committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where children feel safe to express and share their ideas and actively participate in their learning journey. By recognising and valuing each child’s unique perspectives, we foster confidence, independence and a strong sense of identity.

We believe children’s health and safety are at the forefront of our practices.

While in our care, the children’s health, safety, and well-being are paramount. Educators maintain, promote, and implement high-quality standards of hygiene, infection control, monitoring risks, cleanliness, healthy eating, food safety, and safety practices. All incidents, emergencies, illnesses, and injuries are recorded and communicated to families ontime. Our service is also committed to implementing a secure and supportive safe use of technologies and online environment to further enhance children’s safety and wellbeing.

We value setting the foundation of lifelong learning

We embrace a play-based curriculum, based upon the principles and outcomes outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 (EYLF) and My Time Our Place V2.0 (MTOP), that provides children with freedom of choice through offering a wide variety of age-appropriate learning opportunities and resources that are easily accessible. Hence, supporting children to develop at their own pace, whilst encouraging children to share thoughts and ideas, collaborate, explore, experiment, imagine and problem-solve. We believe in celebrating children’s play discoveries, and our programs reflect planned and spontaneous experiences along with intentional teaching opportunities that are deliberate, purposeful, and meaningful.

We believe having an authentic, respectful, and positive relationship with families is paramount.

We believe in building a positive and trusting relationship with all families, children, and communities. We value the unique care opportunities that Family Day Care provides to the community and the need to offer families quality and flexible care for their children. We believe that the child’s family plays a significant role in their lives, so we encourage and invite all families to become involved in their child’s curriculum regularly. As our children and families are bilingual, we support educators to communicate and document in their home language, which builds on their cultural respect and relationship.

We value community involvement and endeavour to acknowledge and support cultural diversity.

We acknowledge and respect the cultural diversity of the community we live in, we encourage values and rights, and ensure that each perspective is respected. We acknowledge that cultural diversity relates to gender, ethnicity, lifestyle, customs, beliefs, backgrounds, and experiences. We encourage Educators to promote inclusive practice in their care services and children’s learning, development, and curriculum in the wider community

We value our world and embed practices to ensure we respect our environment

We believe in the importance of the natural environment and educate children about sustaining natural resources by recycling and up-cycling wisely, and the impact that we have on the world we live in. We encourage Educators to embed sustainability in their programming daily.

We believe in continuous improvement.

Our Family Day Care services have a commitment to continuous improvement and maintain a culture of ongoing learning, reflection, and self-assessment. We are committed to implementing effective self-review processes in consultation with children, families, and the community, which enable our educators to continuously reflect upon and improve our policies, procedures, and practices. This, in turn, enables the delivery of high-quality practices from our management and educators, which contributes directly to improved learning outcomes for children.
